On Wednesday, 20th November 2024, our Founder, Bright Philip Donkor, had the distinct honour of reviewing the thought-provoking book "Revolution and Democracy in Ghana: The Politics of Jerry Rawlings" at the British Council Auditorium, Ridge, Accra. Authored by Emeritus Professor Jeffrey Haynes, a renowned scholar of Politics at London Metropolitan University, UK, and a regular contributor to Daily Statesman Newspaper and Daily Graphic newspapers, the book offers a meticulously researched and nuanced examination of Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings’ enduring political legacy. Professor Haynes moves beyond the often oversimplified accounts of Rawlings’ career, instead exploring the complex interplay of state institutions, civil society, public welfare policies, and global influences that have shaped Ghana’s contemporary political landscape.
